To help astronauts perform long and short duration tasks that require controlled and accurate movements, a flexible restraint system was developed for the International Space Station. The new system of straps work together to provide more or less restraint depending on their configuration and placement on the body. The system utilizes the current restraint system aboard the ISS, metal handle bars, so it doesn't require any extra or heavy and costly equipment be added to the already overcrowded environment.
